Our visit to Maine

The Bush compound, firstly Walker's Point, is the summer home of 41st President of the United States George H. W. Bush. Located adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean in southern Maine, near the town of Kennebunkport, the property has been a family retreat for more than a century.

The estate was first purchased by St. Louis Banker George H. Walker in the late 19th century; he built the mansion in 1903. The estate was later sold to his daughter Dorothy Walker Bush and her husband Prescott Bush and has remained in the Bush family since.

When we visited there, we drove into their driveway by mistake, you should have seen the secret service scramble and head our way, we stopped and backed up and they did too.

On our visit to Bar Harbor, Maine, we drove the stonewall-lined and tree-covered road leading you into the village, from there you can see the sweeping vistas of Cadillac Mountain, there is a special mystique to Bar Harbor.

While there the RMS Queen Elizabeth 2 came into port, everyone flocked to the water to see the largest ship in the world.

This is the view from Thurston's Lobster Pound where Donna has had the best soft shell lobster on the east coast. Thurston's is located near Barnard, Maine and the Arcadia National Park.

The Acadia National Park, Established in 1916, was the first national park east of the Mississippi and the first national park whose land was donated entirely by private citizens.

Acadia encompasses more than 40,000 acres, the vast majority of it on Mount Desert Island.

This is the most beautiful drive in Maine through the maze of turning leaves.

We visited with our buddy, Bill Cote, from Ventura, who makes his home in Danforth, Maine with a million dollar view. This picture was taken in front of the town's library. We had a great New England boiled dinner together.
